About the Chef

Riley O’Dette is a private chef based in Chicago with a passion for crafting unforgettable dining experiences. Born and raised in Bartlett, Illinois, Riley began his career in local neighborhood restaurants, where he first found his passion for cooking.

After moving to Chicago, Riley joined the acclaimed team at Bellemore, recognized as Robb Report's 2018 Best New Restaurant. From there, Riley found himself pursuing his Michelin dreams at Sepia, where he rose to the position of sous chef, further refining his expertise in elevated, seasonally inspired cuisine.

With a deep love for local ingredients and a commitment to connecting with guests, Riley brings creativity and care to every dish.

“We asked Chef Riley to prepare a dinner for us on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of our first date. We told him we'd love to have a meal resembling the tasting menus we used to order in the restaurants where we had our best dinners before health reasons stopped us from going out, and we described some of the dishes that stood out in our memory. He came through with flying colors. He's a very personable guy who obviously enjoys cooking for people who appreciate his work, easy-going, but meticulous in preparation and execution. He arrived on time, served us a tasting menu that exceeded our expectations with its quality and creativity, and cleaned up without leaving a spot. It would be hard to do any better than he did.”
